In 1980, Devi Clinic moved to its current permanent location in the heart of Kollam town, marking a significant milestone in its journey. This relocation enabled the laboratory to expand its services, adopt advanced technologies, and improve accessibility for patients seeking dependable diagnostic solutions.

Currently, we have taken another significant step forward and have been recommended for the prestigious NABL (National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories) certification, awarded by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. The journey of Devi Clinic began in 1970 when Dr. K. Damodaran and Mrs. Jaya Devi Damodaran pioneered the establishment of the first privately run laboratory in Kollam. Technological Advancement (1982)

First Disposable Blood Collection System Implemented (1990)

In 1990, Devi Clinic introduced the first disposable blood collection system, enhancing the safety and reliability of sample collection. This advancement minimized contamination risks and improved diagnostic precision, ensuring the highest standards of patient care.

A Heartfelt Loss (1992)

On September 5th, 1992, Devi Clinic suffered a great loss with the passing of its founder, Dr. K. Damodaran. His legacy of excellence, expertise, and affection remains deeply ingrained in the institution. His vision continues to inspire the team to uphold the highest standards in healthcare diagnostics.

Advancing Hematology (1994)

An additional semi-automated hematology analyzer was introduced, enhancing diagnostic capabilities and improving efficiency in blood analysis.

Introduction of ELISA & Quality Control (1995)

Devi Clinic took a significant step forward by introducing the ELISA methodology, a crucial advancement in immunodiagnostics. This year also marked the beginning of internal quality control programs, ensuring accuracy and reliability in testing.

First Fully Automated Biochemistry Analyzer (1997)

A major breakthrough in diagnostic technology, Devi Clinic installed its first fully automated biochemistry analyzer, elevating the speed and precision of biochemical testing.

Immunology Advancements (1998)

Devi Clinic introduced the Mini VIDAS immunology analyzer, the second installation of its kind in India, strengthening its diagnostic capabilities in immunoassays.

First ISO Certification in Kollam (2003)

Devi Clinic became the first ISO 9001 certified clinical lab in Kollam, a testament to its commitment to quality and excellence in diagnostic services.

Coagulation Analyzer Installation (2004)

The installation of a coagulation analyzer further enhanced the lab’s ability to conduct precise blood clotting tests, benefiting patients with bleeding and clotting disorders.

Evacuated Blood Collection System (2005)

The implementation of the evacuated blood collection system ensured a more efficient and safer method of sample collection, minimizing contamination and improving sample integrity.

NABL Accreditation – First in Kollam (2011)

Devi Clinic achieved NABL accreditation, becoming the first and only laboratory in Kollam to meet the highest standards of quality and competence in medical testing.

Introduction of HPLC Analyzer (2012)

The introduction of the HPLC analyzer for HbA1c testing enabled superior accuracy in monitoring diabetes, reinforcing the clinic’s commitment to providing advanced diagnostic solutions.

Cutting-Edge Automation in Microbiology & Biochemistry (2013)

Devi Clinic further upgraded its diagnostic capabilities with the installation of an automated bacterial identification and antibiotic sensitivity instrument. The biochemistry, immunology, and hematology departments were enhanced with high-throughput instruments, ensuring faster and more precise testing.

Urine Analyzer & Biochemistry Upgrade (2014)

In 2014, Devi Clinical Laboratory introduced the COBAS U411 urine analyzer, significantly enhancing the accuracy of urine diagnostics. Additionally, the clinical biochemistry department was upgraded to COBAS INTEGRA 400 PLUS, ensuring more advanced biochemical analysis.

Immunology & Hematology Enhancements (2016)

In 2016, the immunology analyzer was upgraded to COBAS E411, improving the efficiency of immunodiagnostics. The same year, a new branch was opened at Pallimukku to expand accessibility for patients. The hematology analyzer was also upgraded to HORIBA ABX PENTRA ES60, enhancing precision in blood analysis.

Facility Renovation for Patient Comfort (2018)

To enhance patient experience, Devi Clinical Laboratory renovated its reception and sample collection area in 2018, providing a fully air-conditioned, comfortable environment for visitors.

Home Sample Collection Service Introduced (2019)

In 2019, Devi Clinical Laboratory launched a home and workplace sample collection service, ensuring greater convenience for patients. This year also marked the grand celebration of 50 years of dedicated healthcare under the impeccable leadership of Mrs. Jaya Devi Damodaran.
